Changes not reflecting on Company Profile after lodgement

Why is the new address not showing on the Company Profile after a 484 Change of Address form was lodged?

Answer

This can occur due to a few different reasons.

  1. There may be a delay with ASIC transmitting the updated data. To check if this is the case lodge a Company refresh to pull through any updates ASIC have not yet transmitted.
  2. If multiple address change forms have been lodged within the same day making changes to the same person/entity ASIC may show the form has been lodged. Whilst this is the case the form/s making changes to the Registered Address will be scheduled so the changes take place a week later to ensure no discrepancies are made.

Example below:

Two 484 Change of Address forms were lodged on the same day.

  • One was changing the registered address to 1 Test Street, Sampletown, 4252, Queensland
  • The other was changing the principal address to 2 Sample Drive, Testville, 4734, Queensland

As these forms were lodged separately ASIC receives the lodgements successfully. In order for the changes to process ASIC will schedule the Registered Address change to take place a week later to avoid discrepancies. It is recommended to complete these types of changes within one form eg 484E to avoid the changes being scheduled by ASIC.

In summary if you notice changes have not been updated after a few days of lodgement and you have lodged a Company refresh, give it a few more days and the changes should appear. Otherwise you can contact ASIC directly to see if the changes can be processed faster.
