Establishment date missing from Trust documents

Question

Why is the establishment date missing from Trust establishment documents?

Answer

A trust is not established until the documents have been signed by all the trustees/settlors/appointors. The date the last trustee signs the documents will be the establishment date of the trust.

In the case where the trust has appointed a principal settlor/appointor, they will have to sign the deed before the last trustee of the trust can sign and execute the deed.
